Can I pick up physical books and/or other materials at the Library?
Yes, you can! Please note: Requesting from the library collections on the 3rd & 4th floor, and from other libraries is only available to current SF State students, staff, and faculty. All users with a current SF State library card may request from the library's collections in the LRS. You can access to physical collections from our Library and other libraries by doing the following:
- Submit your request. If you have questions about how to submit a request for items from the Library's collections, click here. If you have questions about how to submit a request for items at other libraries via interlibrary services (CSU+ & ILLiad), click here.
- You will receive an email notification once your items are ready to be picked up. You may also sign in to your Library Account to check the status. Requests listed as “On Hold Shelf” are ready to be picked up. Items will be held for a minimum of 21 calendar days.
- When ready, stop by the Book Checkout & Pickup desk on the first floor of the J. Paul Leonard Library during our hours of operation. Be sure to bring your SF State ID or another form of identification.
- When you are finished with the items, you can return them to one of the Library's book returns (see map below) or you can mail them to:
