How do I request books and/or other materials from the Library's collections?
Answer
You can request books from the Library's collections by following five easy steps (described below). Please note: Requesting materials from the third and fourth floors of the Library and from other libraries is available only to current SF State students, staff, and faculty. Anyone with a current SFSU library card may request materials from the Library Retrieval System (LRS). For help requesting books from the Library's collections, please email circmail@sfsu.edu.
- On the Library's homepage, select Books & Media (SF State) from the dropdown in the OneSearch box.
- Enter a title or keywords to find books in the Library's collections, then Search.
- Review the list of books in the search results, and click on the title of the book you would like to request.
- Click on the "Sign in for more options" button, and then use your SF State credentials or Library barcode and password to sign in.
- Choose "Request item from SF State Library" from the request options and fill out the form. Use the "Send Request" button at the bottom to send your request.
You will receive an email notification when your request is ready to pick up. To have it mailed to you, email circmail@sfsu.edu with your mailing address and the title of items you wish to be mailed after you’ve placed the request.
