Can I request materials from the Library Retrieval System?

Answer

Yes, you can!  You can access to physical collections from our Library (including Library Retrieval System) by doing the following:

  1. Submit your request. If you have questions about how to submit a request for items from the Library's collections, click here.
  2. You will receive an email notification once your items are ready to be picked up. You may also sign in to your Library Account to check the status. Requests listed as “On Hold Shelf” are ready to be picked up. Items will be held for a minimum of 21 calendar days.
  3. When ready, stop by the Book Checkout & Pickup desk on the first floor of the J. Paul Leonard Library during our hours of operation to pick up your books. Be sure to bring your SF State ID (or another form of identification).
  4. When you are finished with the items, you can return them to one of the Library's book returns (see map below) or you can mail them to:

Circulation Services, J. Paul Leonard Library, 1630 Holloway Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94132.

If you have questions, please email circmail@sfsu.edu and we will follow up with you as soon as possible.
