Can I access a thesis or dissertation in ScholarWorks labeled “Campus,” “Embargoed,” or “Private?”
Answer
- Theses that have been embargoed or requested to remain private by their authors are not accessible unless the requestor acquires written permission from the author. At this time, the library cannot contact authors to obtain permission for scanning or sharing their work.
- Theses and dissertations completed before 2010 are available in hard copy in the 3rd-floor stacks. Some pre-2010 theses are available digitally in ScholarWorks because permission was given by their authors to make the works accessible online.
- For alumni wishing to make their theses, dissertations, or creative works publicly accessible in the San Francisco State institutional repository, ScholarWorks, please complete and submit this request form.
