Study Space

Answer

Public study areas in the Library are available on floors 1-4. Students and SF State employees can also use the Study Commons on floor G during fall and spring semesters. Please check the Library's Hours page schedule for specific services and hours.

Reservations for select 'Study Spaces' is available for single or multiple occupancy in one of the Study Rooms in Study Commons - Ground Floor level and Research Commons - 1st floor.  Students can request single or multiple two-hour reservations.  To check availability and reserve rooms, visit the Library Rooms calendar.   Please log in with SF-State-9-digit-ID@sfsu.edu and password.  You will need to complete the Two-Factor Authentication to reserve a room.

Reserving a room is restricted to 3 hours per day and reserved in two-hour slots.  You can request a room up to three days in advance, schedule permitting.

Study Space on the 1st floor is available in the "Events Room" (Room 121) when there isn't a scheduled event.  There is a "Quiet Study Area" inside Study Commons.  The "Quiet Study Area" near Research Commons has reopened.

Also, there are a few outdoor spaces where you can access our WiFi and study.  One site is located outside of the Main Entranceway to the Library.  The other site is near the entrance to the Library on Holloway Avenue.  Both sites have stone table areas where you can work, weather permitting.
